First:Getting the initial details from the radio. | ||
Programming the Yaesu FTM-150RASP radio begins in the radio. Not by formatting the card but by doing a Backup of All data to the card. This does two things

Step 1: With the radio off, insert the SD card into the slot on the side of the head of the radio.

Step 2: Press and Hold the F[BACK] key until the menu opens | ||
Step 3: Rotate the lower [KNOB] (right or left) to menu item 47 BACKUP | ||
Step 4: Press the lower RIGHT [KNOB] to select Backup. It NOTHING happens, the radio does not recognize the SD card.

Step 5: The Backup menu opens to Write to SD. | ||
Step 6: The Write to SD menu opens. The ALL selection is correct. | ||
Step 7: Press the lower RIGHT [KNOB] to select All. A window opens on the radio to let you know the option was selected. | ||
Step 8: Rotate the lower RIGHT [KNOB] to OK. | ||
Step 9: Press the lower RIGHT [KNOB] to start the process. | ||
Step 10: The radio shows SAVING during the process. | ||
Step 11: The radio reports Completed and the filename when the process is finished. Note: You have no control over this filename. You should make a note of the name as it changes each time you complete this process and you will need to know it later in process. | ||
Second: Introducing the Radio to the Computer via the SD Card | ||
Step 1: Remove the SD Card from the radio. This is done by pressing the card to release it. It will pop out a little but a pair of tweezers might be helpful. Mount the card for use in your computer. | ||
Step 2: Open the YPS-M150 Programmer to a blank file. If you have been working in the programmer and have frequencies ready to load into the radio, do File | New to get a blank file. This protects your work from what will come from the radio during this process. | ||
Step 3: Click Communications | Read from SD Card from the menu at the top of the screen. | ||
Step 4: Select your file from the box that opens.

Step 5: The file opens filling the programmer with the information from the radio.

Third: Save File to Computer / Put it back on SD Card for Radio | ||
Step 1: Complete your file with repeater information and other customized settings. Save your file as you work. This saves the file to the computer. | ||
Step 2: Do Communications | Write to SD Card This process "translates" the information into a format that the radio can understand. | ||
Step 3: A Dialog opens for you to name this file.
Once this process is complete, remove the SD card from the computer and reinstall it in the radio. | ||
Fourth: Transfer Contents of SD Card to Radio | ||
Step 1: Press and Hold the F[BACK] key until the menu opens | ||
Step 2: Rotate the lower [KNOB] (right or left) to menu item 47 BACKUP | ||
Step 3: Press the lower RIGHT [KNOB] to select Backup. It NOTHING happens, the radio does not recognize the SD card.

Step 4: The Backup menu opens to Write to SD. | ||
Step 5: Rotate the lower Right [KNOB] to Read from SD | ||
Step 6: The Read from SD Menu opens at ALL. All is correct selection. | ||
Step 7: Press the lower RIGHT [KNOB] to select You are presented with a list of files from which to choose. | ||
Step 8: Press the lower RIGHT [KNOB] to continue. Turn the same knob to OK on the next screen. | ||
Step 9: The radio displays LOADING during the process. | ||
Step 10: The radio displays Completed. | ||
Step 11: The radio cycles off and back on and is now programmed with the memory channels and settings. you may have to change from VFO to memory mode using the V/M key (light press) to see the programmed channel information. |
