Great Software
Easy to use. Hand-jamming the information into the radio was a serious pain. This eliminated the pain and made the transfer easy and secure.

Best programming software ever.
RT Systems has the best user friendly programming software ever developed. I tried to program my radio with the direction provided from the manufacture with little success, after buy RT Systems and watching a YouTube video I am now on the air. Thanks RT Systems.

I was sold the wrong cable. The Icom ID5100A I just got requires a 2.5mm jack for the data port on the back of the radio, the USB-29A has a 3.5mm jack. I'm not very happy about this. The correct cable for my ID5100A is the RTS05. I have to find me a stereo jack adapter reducer to get me to 2.5mm now. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Two things here. 1) The radio will program with this cable. The 3.5mm plug inserts into the SP2 port on the back of the radio. This connection is actually more reliable for programming. 2) An adapter will not work as different electronics are required when you address the data port on the front of the radio. Lots of moving parts here. Just remember, what you have works... just maybe not quite as you expect. Feel free to call (404-806-9561) or email (

The RT Systems programmer for this radio now works with "generic" USB cables. USB cables have become a little more consistent and reliable. Consider this as you decide which cable will be best for you.

If you feel really comfortable with identifying what cable is needed for this radio, by all means, pick something cheap and order it. You may get what you need for less money. We all like to get things that work for less money. But remember, you must consider, electronics of the cable as well as the proper connection at the radio to get programming to work. RT Systems has done all that work for you and can guarantee that the cable listed in the description is what you need for this model.
Cables with proper pin spacing for the radio have been around for a long time with varying designs for USB circuitry. some work well. Some work with varying degrees of success. Some don't work at all. Both circuitry design and wiring could be the issue. If you have a cable that works, it should work with the Windows version of the programmer.
A generic cable may cease to work on Windows 11.
When using a generic USB cable for programming, you are responsible for finding and installing drivers.
You are responsible for identifying the com port in use by the cable, assigning that in the program and changing it should you use a different cable the next time that assigns to a different com port designation.
RT Systems cannot help you with cable setup... there are just too many cables out there for us to begin to know what you have.
USB-29A
Performance and ease of use of the Windows programming system are guaranteed only with the RT Systems USB-29A cable.
RT Systems programming cables work on Windows 11.
Drivers are installed during installation of the programmer. Sometime help is needed to complete driver installation: we are here to help with that.
You do not need to know or assign a com port in the program. The programmer finds the cable automatically.
If there is a problem with communications between the radio and the computer, we are here to help....and we know LOTS of tricks!!
RT Systems programmers work with the radio specified from the manufacturer shown in the description.
RT Systems programmers are designed to work with manufacturer's firmware or approved firmware upgrades. There is no guarantee, and a great deal of doubt, that the programmer will work with a radio that has been upgraded with a firmware version that is not from the manufacturer. RT Systems takes no responsibility for changes made to such a modified radio during programming.
No implication is made that a programmer is appropriate for a radio with a similar number from a different manufacturer. Actually, purchasing a programmer for a radio from a different manufacturer just because it has a similar number is strongly discouraged.
RT Systems takes no responsibility for the performance of your radio should you choose to use a programmer other than that listed specifically for the manufacturer and model of that radio you are attempting to program. Exceptions are noted in the description for several products. Check there if you feel your radio is a variant of the one shown, but be advised that the manufacturer will never vary. If the model is not listed, you should check with RT Systems prior to your purchase.

Your purchase is for the RT Systems programmer on ONE operating system: Windows OR Mac.
You make that selection during the purchase from our site or at download if your purchase was through a dealer.
You can have BOTH the Windows and Mac versions at a discount for the second (for programmers that have both a Windows and Mac version available).
Qualifying versions are Windows 5.0 or higher and Mac 6.0 and higher. Earlier versions of the RT Systems programmers do not qualify you for a discounted cross platform purchase.
