The Radio Programmer Is for so Much More than Just Memory Management

With the KRS-THD75 Programmer you can begin a new “factory fresh” file into which frequencies and option settings are entered. Or you can read from the radio, store these details on your computer and make changes. Then, with minimal button pushing, send the new configuration back to the radio.

The Programmer allows you to create and save as many files as you want for your radio. Files can even be shared between users via email or the Internet.

Managing all the options of this great radio becomes easy with the Programmer. The cut, copy, paste and insert features of the Programmer make channel management easier than ever.

Open more than one file at a time. Memory channel information can be copied from one file to another within the Programmer making it really easy to set up a new file.

Save your file as you work. This is a computer, after all, and you would hate to lose your work should the system fail. Actually, create and save as many files as you want or need. You could have one file for home, a different one for the vacation house, another for the trip to your son’s house, another for the yearly 3K run and picnic where you help direct traffic and want the radio to be programmed with only the frequencies for that event. Remember, radio programming is an overwrite process. Everything in the radio is replaced by everything in the file.

Limit Memories

Limit Memories

The TH-D75 has 50 pair of Limit memories used for Program Scan. This scanning operates between the lower and upper frequencies entered in a given pair. The lower and upper frequencies must be in the same band for scanning to operate using that pair.

DR Memories

DR Memories

DR Memories for DStar activities. The RT Systems programmer includes a list that will load to your radio. You can customize that list with the DStar calculator for the DR Memories. Remember, a customized list of repeaters you use is much better than wading through a long list to find the one you want. You can always get the original list back from a New (default) file.

DStar Calculator for DR Memories

DStar Calculator for DR Memories

The DStar Calculator for DR Memories has worldwide repeaters for use in DR activities. With a few clicks, you can customize the DR memories of the radio. Remember, you must be able to hit this repeater to be able to use it either locally or for a DStar connection.

Hot Spot Memories

Hot Spot Memories

The TH-D75 offers separate memories for your Hot Spot. Enter the details here for your device. Only one entry is necessary for your Hot Spot. Other commands (change repeater, disconnect, or echo) will be accessed from the Individual List in the Destination select of the radio. The destinations to be selected can be customized in the programmer. This list is found under DStar | Digital (DStar) settings from the menu at the top of the screen.

DStar | Digital (DStar) Settings

DStar Settings

Your Callsign is a requirement for any and all DStar activities. Access DStar | Digital (DStar) Settings from the top of the screen. Here you will find places to enter your Callsign (this is YOUR FCC issued callsign that has been registered in the DStar system), the 4-character Note and Message that will transmit with your voice transmission to be displayed on the recipient's radio, and the Your Callsign list that you can customize for your use (these are the DStar function commands and Reflector list.)

Call Channels

Call Channels

Call channels are a set of memories (two per band) that are used for a quick recall function of the radio. These channels MUST be programmed. The frequencies shown in the Programmer can be changed to any other that is appropriate for the band. The Programmer will warn you if what you enter is not appropriate. If you need to re-enter the default value, look in a new file of the Programmer for that value. If you are not using Call Channel functionality on the radio, leave the entries of this screen set to the default values.

VFO

VFO

VFO memories are a set of default frequencies that are programmed into the radio in production or that the radio was last using before the Get Data from process was completed. They are a part of the programmer more for information than actual usage given that VFO changes and is not saved when you turn the knob on the radio. There is no "one-button" type recall for these channels. These channels MUST be programmed. If you need the default values, they can be found in a new file of the Programmer.

Weather (Channels)

Weather

Ten NOAA weather channel frequencies are stored in this special part of memory. Enter a name that properly identifies the channel for you and add a comment to refer to while working in the file (the comment does not transfer to the radio but will be a part of a printout of this page).

GPS Memories

GPS Memories

GPS memories for up to 100 points captured using the GPS Mark function. Make changes to these entries or clear the list to begin again.
