So you have set up the programmer with over 100 memory channels and now that you sent it to the radio you are finding only about 20 channels. Where did the rest of them go?
The first thought is that the program did not send everything to the radio.... this can't happen. Programming is an All or Nothing process. If there were no errors during the process (either on the radio or on the computer), everything you see on the screen is in the radio. Let me help you find them all.
Most likely, you have the radio in Bank or Group mode. This radio works channels 1-20, 21-40, etc in groups of 20. Briefly, once engaged, the radio works only the channels in that range. If you want to know all the details of how this option of the radio works, see our Knowledge Base article with those details.
You can turn off Bank or Group mode from the face of the radio by settings Menu Item Number 057 "MHz/Mem Grp" to MHz.
Now, you need to turn off this option in the programming file so it does not get turned back on every time you use this file. To do this:

Now, you need to turn off this option in the programming file so it does not get turned back on every time you use this file. To do this:
- Go to Settings | Radio Menu Settings at the top of the screen
- On the Settings screen, be sure Memory Group (4th one from bottom in the first column) is unchecked.
- Save this screen with the File menu at the top (do not use the "X" at the upper right to close or you will lose the change you made)
- Close the settings screen (after you make other changes you might want for the radio - Remember, the help for the programmer explains what all those options are. You may find just what you wanted to make the radio operate more to your liking.... )
- The next time you program the radio with this file, the Bank or Group option will remain off (unless you decide you like how it works and turn it back on.)
Experiment - you can't hurt it by tweaking a setting. If you don't like the results... change it back. Remember: "Failure is only a chance to try again with more knowledge." Henry Ford
