RT Systems RTS-03 USB to serial adapter will work with the Kenwood serial cable for programming of this radio.

1) Make sure that you have the latest driver's for the RTS-03 installed, these are available at our website.  
2) Then you will need the comport set to 1 or 2, this can be done thru device manager.
3) Reboot the computer to make sure changes are applied.
......
4) Transceiver communication will need to be set to on.

Now you should be set to program your radio.
