DStar Details Built right into the Programmer

Restoring DStar Information to a Radio that has been Reset
When Icom DStar radios are reset, they lose DR Memories and the Your callsign List. While you may never use these for your DStar activities, you might want to as you learn more about DStar. These options give you a great deal of flexibility for accessing repeaters in a new area and to connect to most any reflector. Icom provides a list of DR memories on the Icom America site that can be imported into the radio. This file cannot be imported into the RT Systems programmer as it is specially built to address several items in the brain of the radio. The RT Systems Programmer has these repeaters and Your Callsigns built-in to every new file ready to go to the radio when you send your memory channels. With Communications \| Send data to radio or Communications \| Write to SD Card, ALL of your radio will be restored.

Check the status of the DR Memories and Your Callsign list in your radio. In the Programmer, do File \| New Complete Communications \| Get Data from Radio Or, use an SD card to Save settings from the radio then use Communications \| Read from SD Card.

Step 2: Check the DR Memories tab. Click on the DR Memories tab at the bottom of the screen. If the screen is empty, as shown here, your radio does not have DR memories for you to use.

Step 3: Access the Your Callsigns List Click DStar \| Digital (DStar) Settings from the menu at the top of the screen to access the Your Callsign list

Step 4: Check the Your Callsign List If the list is blank as shown here, you do not have the Your Callsign list in your radio.

Step 5: How RT Systems Helps Click File \| New. Check the DR Memories page. Notice the list is full. You can customize this list using the DStar calculator from the DStar menu item at the top. Remember, you don't need this entire list. You can customize this list to include only the repeaters you need for your area or for a place you will be visiting. Build your memory channels and other details into this file (not the one created when you read data from the radio). When you send this file to the radio, the DR Memories will be sent automatically.

Step 6: Check Your Callsign List Click Dstar \| Digital (Dstar) Settings in the Menu at the top of the page. Notice that the Your Callsign list is complete. Customize this list or use it as is. When you send this file to the radio, this list will be sent automataically.
