Many radios today use electronics that are built into the radio. For The DMR radios, the most common drivers are distributed with the RT Systems programmer for that model.
  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Find the device - usually under Other Devices with a yellow caution symbol or under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. (Anyplace it shows up as something other than STM Device in DFU Mode) - If you are not sure, turn the radio off and see what disappears from the list. That will be the radio.
  3. Right click on the indication for the radio and select Update Driver
  4. Select BROWSE MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVERS... this will NOT work automatically. It did not the first time and it will not this time.
  5. One the next screen, click the Browse button next to the "search for drives in this location" box.
  6. In the window that opens, drill down to C:\Program Files (x86)\RT Systems USBCom Drivers\DMRDrivers (these drivers were installed with the programmer)
  7. Click OK to close this window.
  8. Click Next
  9. Windows will do its thing and complete setup of the drivers for use by the system.
  10. Close Device Manager
  11. Open the programmer and try again.
