Ease to use
Easy to use system. Very interactive. It made radio and memory programming very easy. It would be interesting to have a worksheet to register some reflectors and of course if the radio allows to receive this information

I have never been disapointed
I have bought cables for Icom 2100. V8000, 880 and T8, never had a problem. I have bought software for V8000, 7000, 7100 and 9100. Most recently the ID-5100. It just works... 73, Larry WB8LBZ

MacOS version....
Did an electronic download, all good there. Could get the program to recognize the USB cable, finally did the Windows re-boot and it worked. Some of the keyboard short cuts are not shown in the drop down menus. Some of the radio settings are reset when re-loading the file back to the radio, so some work required there. Overall I am glad that MacOS is supported but for version 1.0 I guess not a bad effort. Saves me having to boot into Parallels then into Windows to use the Windows version. I hope that future updates address some these issues.

ID-5100 DSTAR RT Syst. Mac Programming Software
This, as all previous RT Systems programmers, have been wonderful. It is even better on the Mac. I will not buy a radio if it does not have RT Systems programer.

On some Icom radios the USB-29A and the USB-RTS05 cables are offered for programming. This comparison will help you decide between the two cables.
USB-29A
The USB-29A cable (blue) programs the radio. It connects to the radio through the 3.5mm speaker jack. If there are two speaker jacks, it is usually SP2. Check your manual. It will specify which speaker port is used for cloning or programming. That's the one to use.
The USB-29A cable is generally more dependable for programming since the radio does not put other data out through the speaker jack. However, you cannot have a speaker attached to the other speaker jack while programming.
The USB-29A cable can be used to program many of the Icom handhelds and mobiles as well as radios from other manufacturers. It is one of the more "universal" programming cables in the RT Systems line.
USB-RTS05
The USB-RTS05 cable programs the radio through the 2.5mm data port.
The USB-RTS05 cable works both for programming the radio with the RT Systems software AND as a cable for digital data using other programs such as D-Rats. It works with many other Icom D-Star radios (handhelds and mobiles) for programming and data.
Note: Be aware that you must turn off GPS from the controls on the front of the radio when using this cable for programming. Erratic movement of the mouse will occur if GPS is on.
RT Systems programmers work with the radio specified from the manufacturer shown in the description.
RT Systems programmers are designed to work with manufacturer's firmware or approved firmware upgrades. There is no guarantee, and a great deal of doubt, that the programmer will work with a radio that has been upgraded with a firmware version that is not from the manufacturer. RT Systems takes no responsibility for changes made to such a modified radio during programming.
No implication is made that a programmer is appropriate for a radio with a similar number from a different manufacturer. Actually, purchasing a programmer for a radio from a different manufacturer just because it has a similar number is strongly discouraged.
RT Systems takes no responsibility for the performance of your radio should you choose to use a programmer other than that listed specifically for the manufacturer and model of that radio you are attempting to program. Exceptions are noted in the description for several products. Check there if you feel your radio is a variant of the one shown, but be advised that the manufacturer will never vary. If the model is not listed, you should check with RT Systems prior to your purchase.
Installed software is NOT returnable, exchangeable or refundable.
Your purchase is for the RT Systems programmer on ONE operating system: Windows OR Mac.
You make that selection during the purchase from our site or at download if your purchase was through a dealer.
You can have BOTH the Windows and Mac versions at a discount for the second (for programmers that have both a Windows and Mac version available).
Qualifying versions are Windows 5.0 or higher and Mac 6.0 and higher. Earlier versions of the RT Systems programmers do not qualify you for a discounted cross platform purchase.
