The RT Systems RPS-UV98Plus Programmer helps you manage the memory channel and settings data of the iRadio UV-98Plus. Use External Data links right in the programmer to get details for repeaters in your area or a location you plan to visit. In minutes, you will have all the memory channels set up and ready to use.
Spreadsheet layout with many point and click options.
"Read" the current configuration from the radio for editing or start from scratch in a new file.
The programmer has copy and paste of memory channel information between files.
Column editing for changing several channels with minimal typing.
An easy interface to Internet based data to get repeater information for your location, a travel route, or a vacation spot. Repeater details available for locations in and outside the US. (separate purchase or subscription may be required).
Other built-in frequency lists for easy memory channel entries (check File|External data in the programmer before you spend time on internet searches for frequencies. You may find just what you need!)
For DMR programming, links to contact and repeater information. Easily get and send details for all those contacts you're hearing.
Copy and paste spreadsheet or website data.
Much more than just memory channel programming with settings for other radio menu items.
Software works with Windows 8/8.1 (full versions), Windows 10 (32 and 64 bit) and Windows 11.
The programmer now works with "generic" USB cables. USB cables have become a little more consistent and reliable. Consider this as you decide which cable will be best for you.
Generic USB
Cable
Cables with USB-C connections are becoming more available. This radio needs external circuitry to make the connection between it and the computer.
A standard USB-C cable (that you may use for charging) will NOT program this radio.
A generic cable may cease to work on Windows 11.
When using a generic USB cable for programming, you are responsible for finding and installing drivers.
You are responsible for identifying the com port in use by the cable, assigning that in the program and changing it should you use a different cable the next time that assigns to a different com port designation.
RT Systems cannot help you with cable setup... there are just too many cables out there for us to begin to know what you have.
This radio requires electronics in the cable for connection to the computer. It will not program using a standard USB-C charging cable.

Performance of the programming system is guaranteed with the RT Systems cable.
RT Systems programming cables work on Windows 11.
Drivers are installed during installation of the programmer. Sometime help is needed to complete driver installation: we are here to help with that.
You do not need to know or assign a com port in the program. The programmer finds the cable automatically.
If there is a problem with communications between the radio and the computer, we are here to help....and we know LOTS of tricks!!
RT Systems programmers work with the radio specified from the manufacturer shown in the description.
RT Systems programmers are designed to work with manufacturer's firmware or approved firmware upgrades. There is no guarantee, and a great deal of doubt, that the programmer will work with a radio that has been upgraded with a firmware version that is not from the manufacturer. RT Systems takes no responsibility for changes made to such a modified radio during programming.
No implication is made that a programmer is appropriate for a radio with a similar number from a different manufacturer. Actually, purchasing a programmer for a radio from a different manufacturer just because it has a similar number is strongly discouraged.
RT Systems takes no responsibility for the performance of your radio should you choose to use a programmer other than that listed specifically for the manufacturer and model of that radio you are attempting to program. Exceptions are noted in the description for several products. Check there if you feel your radio is a variant of the one shown, but be advised that the manufacturer will never vary. If the model is not listed, you should check with RT Systems prior to your purchase.
Installed software is NOT returnable, exchangeable or refundable.
