Change the serial port of the USB cable
Last Updated: 01/11/2013
The serial port number of the USB cables can be changed using the Device Manager.

To start the Device Manage, click on the Start button and then in the Run (Search Programs) box type sysdm.cpl and hit enter or click OK.  When the System Properties window opens, click on the Hardware tab and then the Device Manager button.

In Device Manger scroll down to the group Ports (Com & LPT) and expand the group.

Double click on the USB cable in the list.

Then on the Properties screen click on the Port Settings tab.

Next click on the Advanced button.

On the Advanced Settings screen you can change the com port number.
