Remote Jack on IC-746
Last Updated: 10/02/2015
The manual for the IC-746 identifies the remote port of the radio incorrectly. If you use that jack... nothing will happen when attempting to program the radio with the RT Systems programmer or if you attempt to connect with control software such as Ham Radio Deluxe.

The diagram in the manual has the label for the [SP] and [REMOTE] jacks reversed.
This is WRONG... if you plug in according to the drawing you will NOT be able to make the connection between the radio and the computer.

Below the photo shows the CORRECT CONNECTION.

This is a photo of the back of the radio with the USB-RTS01 cable properly attached. Communication with the radio was possible once the cable was connected to the correct jack. It's a little hard to see in the photo; but, the label on the radio indicates that the remote jack is the second jack from the right and the speaker jack is the first one. Check the back of your radio for this tag.
